Northern CA Springtime Flowers

We’re enjoying the burst of Springtime flowers, as you can see.   You really want to click on both of these flowers to see the detail:

Baby Blue Eyes

Calypso Orchid

Note to my hiking buddies: Can you really tell me that the Calypso Orchid (a/k/a Swabbie) does NOT look like a pirate?   Aye, Matie!  Shiver me timbers!   Walk the deck and swab the plank!

Below are WHITE Shooting Stars we saw today (4/2/11) at Black Diamond Mines Regional Park.  We’re used to seeing Pink Henderson Shooting stars, but white are really special to us.    Their colors are amazing if you look closely and, yes, they really are lifting their pretty faces up to the sunny sky.
